Fauconberg papers related to his embassy to Italy, 1669-1673.

Three manuscripts, on paper, in at least two hands. The first is a 49 page report, addressed to King Charles II, on Fauconberg's embassy to Venice and travel through the Italian states in 1669, including information on their political organizations and alliances, products, trade, and cities. The second and third manuscripts are journals of voyages on the ship Speedwell, 1672 April-1673 March.

Thomas Belasyse was appointed ambassador extraordinary to Venice in 1669. On his return to England in 1672 he was named a privy councillor.
